(2). Applique the 4 - 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 inch squares to the other 13 X 20 inch piece of fabric. To do this fold down 5 inches of fabric.  Place the squares on point over lapping them a bit so that they are about 1 1/2 inches from the bottom edge and the letters should be about 1 1/2 inches from either side so they are centered. Applique them in place using the button hole stitch. Now hand embroidery or machine embroidery the word MAPS one letter per square.

(3). Cut a 2- 2 1/2 piece of twine or yarn just make sure it will go around the button you've chosen (this will form the loop to go around the button for closure of the case). Find the center along the edge of the piece you  just appliquéd MAPS to, pinch together the ends of the twine, pin in place at the center mark. loop end towards the appliquéd MAPS. stitch 1/4 inch from edge.

(4). Pin both 13 X 20 inch fabrics right sides together, leaving a 4 inch area on the right hand side unsowed ( this is where you'll turn the piece to the right side after sewing.

(5). After the piece is sewn and turned, turn under the raw edges of the unsown 4 inch area, press, pin  and top stitch all around entire piece 1/4 inch

(6). Quilt the piece how ever you wish

(7). Fold up the lower end 7 inches press, pin and stitch the sides 1/4 inch seams, fold the top 5 inches down press.
