Project Linus is a 100% volunteer non-profit organization with a two-fold mission:  First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers."  Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.    http://www.projectlinus.org/index.shtml

Spice of Life traveling quilt exhibit to open in Salem, OregonAPNQ

http://www.apnq.org/exhibits/SL/SoL_quilts/SoL01.php

Quilters and fiber artists in the Salem, Oregon area have a treat in store: APNQ's "Spice of Life" invitational traveling exhibit opens at Mission Mill Museum October 11, and will run through December 23.

At noon on Friday, October 12, area resident Lynn Williams, APNQ board emeritus, will introduce "Spice" with a special half-hour presentation at the Museum on the exhibit and on APNQ's upcoming Pacific Northwest Quiltfest show to be held in Seattle next summer.

The "Spice" exhibit comprises some 50 quilts, each 24" x 36" in size, portraying the theme of "variety is the spice of life."  The quilts, created and donated by well-known quilt artists from all over the greater Pacific Northwest region, will be auctioned at the 2008 Quiltfest as a fundraiser for APNQ. For more information on the "Spice" traveling exhibit and pictures of the quilts, go to www.apnq.org/exhibits/SL/.
