the date for Quiltfest: August 8, 9, 10 - 2008Every two years Seattle is host to the Pacific Northwest Quiltfest, a biennial juried and judged international competition among quilt makers of Alaska, Alberta, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Northwest Territories, Oregon and Washington and Yukon in Canada. http://www.apnq.org/quiltfest/

Spice of Life traveling quilt exhibit to open in Salem,
Oregon http://www.apnq.org/exhibits/SL/SoL_quilts/SoL01.php Quilters and fiber artists in the Salem, Oregon area have a treat in store: APNQ's "Spice of Life" invitational traveling exhibit opens at Mission Mill Museum October 11, and will run through December 23.
At noon on Friday, October 12, area resident Lynn Williams, APNQ board emeritus, will introduce "Spice" with a special half-hour presentation at the Museum on the exhibit and on APNQ's upcoming Pacific Northwest Quiltfest show to be held in Seattle next summer.
The "Spice" exhibit comprises some 50 quilts, each 24" x 36" in size, portraying the theme of "variety is the spice of life." The quilts, created and donated by well-known quilt artists from all over the greater Pacific Northwest region, will be auctioned at the 2008 Quiltfest as a fundraiser for APNQ.
